When one of our mothers was diagnosed with breast cancer, we needed a tool that would help us share notes within the family as we went to doctor appointments. We needed an application that made taking and sharing text, audio, and visual notes as simple and as fast possible. We specifically wanted to take pictures while recording audio, refer to previous notes while recording, start note taking as quickly as possible, and have it all fit in a single email. Finding such an app was near impossible, so we built one. Our experience led much of our design and features.
The family member with breast cancer ultimately went through surgery and sixteen rounds of chemo and as of February 2013, is in remission. The odds are in her favor at this point, and the beta version of Appointment Buddy helped us all keep track of her progress as a family.
